Many of us who have been in this fight for decades know that, in a long war, the significance of a battle lies not in whether you win or lose a battle. It lies in what you do with the forces who have been battle-tested and carry on the fight. Donald Trump's pending announcement provides only part of that answer.
What will be the quality of the new generation of leadership which is emerging? What will be the depth of our citizens' determination? What will be our strategy for winning over more of our fellow Americans? What will be our vision for the future?
